Uniqueness of the Rainforest Tea Uniqueness of the Rainforest Tea Uniqueness of the Rainforest Tea

Environment

Sabah Tea Garden is located at 2,272feet above the sea level and at the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu, Malaysia's first World Heritage Site. The fertility of the soil in that area is conducive for all kinds of crops, ranging from vegetables to flowers and tea. Such fertility is an added advantage to the teas produced by Desa Tea Sdn Bhd.

Zero Pesticide

One of the main unique selling points of the Rainforest Tea is that, pesticides are not being applied to deter pests from attacking the tea plants. The reason behind this advantage is that out of the total area of 6,300 acres. Only about 10-15 % of it are being developed, which includes a Tea House, Rungus Long Houses, Bungalows, Housing Areas for the staffs and other facilities.

Plots cultivated with tea is only about 8% (800 acres)of the total acreage of Desa Tea S/B. Therefore it creates the absence of ecology disturbances. Habitats of pests and the likes are not harmed, thus searching for food is never an issue. Hence our tea plants are save from being savaged by pests.

Zero Additives

Desa Tea S/B sticks to the ideology of a 100% natural tea. This brings us to the zero usage of artificial colorings and flavorings. One do not have to worry about consuming chemical particles such as pesticides and artificial additives that may deteriorate our health that in the long term may weakens our body's immune system.

What is One Source?

Rainforest tea is a single-estate unblended tea. Meaning to say that, we do not purchase tea leaves from other plantations or at auctions to be mixed and manufactured. All tea leaves used by Desa Tea S/B are from one plantation. This enables us to monitor on the consistencies in the quality of our tea.
